The Festival Supplier Awards will return to London’s Hurlingham Club on 27th January 2022. As always, they will recognise the achievements of the outdoor event supply chain and this time around organiser Eventive Media Limited is promising that the evening will be a celebration of what the industry has achieved during the pandemic.
Event director, Michelle Tayton comments: “The theme for the Festival Supplier Awards 2022 is definitely one of celebration. Despite the pandemic’s crushing effect, we’ve seen unbelievable ingenuity and resilience from every corner of our industry. Whether that was delivering sporting events held behind closed doors, ambitious drive-in cinemas and festivals, incredible live streams that reminded us of what we were missing and kept the arts alive or taking festival sites and turning them into camping and glamping spaces to fill the gap as staycation venues.
“Since the restrictions were lifted events have returned and the challenges for organisers and suppliers are well documented – huge demand, kit shortages, transport issues, reduced teams and a lack of crew all made for a hectic few months back. Having something to look forward to at the start of the year before the 2022 outdoor event season begins will be good for everyone. It’s our first chance to get together and party. Essentially, shortlisted or not, everyone who’s got through the last two years and is still standing is a winner and that is something to celebrate.”
The usual categories of Best Power, Best Temporary Roadway, Best Temporary Structure, Best Health & Safety, Best Crewing Company, Best Screen Supplier, Best Stage etc. that are decided by the judging panel all return. There are also awards for Unsung Hero and Supplier Team of the Year which will be decided by the industry. Open to all companies entering the other categories, they will form part of the initial judging process with the eight individuals and teams who receive the highest scores the shortlisted and put to the public vote. All winners will be announced at the awards ceremony.
